SMMAdv - Opening/Importing Saved Project Images into the Video Window

This function is used to import saved or batches of images from other applications as a new Project into the Stop MotionMaker Advance Video Window.  If you are just importing a batch of images into a existing project then select ‘Import/Batch’ instead. See the ‘Import’ tutorial for more information on that function.

To open (import) saved project/scene image files back into the video image working directory carry out the steps shown in the following tutorial:

Note: This function will also import JPEG images from other applications as well, up to a maximum size of 2000 x 1100.  Larger still images (up to 3456 x 2304) can be imported to the Still image window with the large image version of the application (can be supplied upon request).

When the Stop MotionMaker Advance application is first opened without any images in the working directory and no video camera connected then the screen will look like the one shown below:

If there are images in the working directory, then these will be shown.

1. If there are images left in the video working directory folder then the image size of the project will be set by these images.

If there are no images in the video working directory folder then the panel shown below will be displayed asking for a image size to be set.

Note:  If you set a image size larger or small then the project images you are about to import then these images will be automatically converted to the size chosen, which may or may not distort the images (the default size is 720 x 576).

In the example shown below, the image size being set is 640 x 480, as this is the size of the project images that were saved from a scene that used a Web Cam set to 640 x 480.

2. Select ‘OPEN’ as shown below:

OpenImage_NoCameraT_p4

3. Select the folder were the saved images are held (or saved jpeg images from another application) and then select ‘OK’.

OpenImage_NoCameraT_p5

4. Select ‘Yes’ to import the images and also delete the current working directory images if there are any.
Note:  If you want to add images to an existing project then use the IMPORT/Batch function.

OpenImage_NoCameraT_p6

Images will now be imported from the the lowest alphanumeric defined name up and given a new SMM frame number.

Note:  The saved images will not be modified in anyway.

The image below shows in the example that 13 - 640 x 480 images have been imported.
